About Me.
Born and Raised in Midland Michigan, I attended and graduated from Herbert Henry Dow High School where I wasn't involved in theatre or the arts or writing I just goofed off for four years and played one season of JV Football as a starting defensive lineman. Following graduation, I moved to the Detroit area with some of my siblings to start a career in standup comedy; I got listed with an agency and decided standup was not the career I wanted. I'm just not fit for the on-the-road party lifestyle.
After performing standup throughout the great state of Michigan and the great province of Ontario, including Mark Ridley's Comedy Castle and Yuk Yuk's Comedy Club. I then got involved in improvisational theatre or improv for short. I studied improv at The Second City and became a main-stage performer for the improv troupe Big Fun Limo in Royal Oak at the Wunderground Theatre, which is now a coney island restaurant with a yoga loft above it. I also performed a two-hour one man standup comedy show at the Midland Center for the Arts that I wrote and titled Bringing Home the Soy Based Bacon Flavored Protein Strips.
Wanting to improve my improv abilities I enrolled in school at the University of Detroit Mercy in their prestigious theatre program, I caught the acting bug, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre, and have been involved in theatre and film ever since. I've worked on stage for many companies throughout Michigan including Detroit Mercy Theatre Company, The Detroit Repertory Theatre, Planet Ant, and Shakespeare Royal Oak. I was featured in the movie Street Boss that starred Vincent Pastori from HBO's hit TV show The Sopranos, and I was in series that had a one season run on Amazon Prime entitled A Billion to One. I've even won a couple of acting awards: The Mahlon Sharp Award for Best Performance in a Supporting Role, and I won the First Place Award in the 17th Annual Detroit n' Hollywood Acting Competition.
In order to compete in the world of day jobs, I earned a Master of Science in Marketing from Yeshiva University. During my undergraduate studies at UDM, I took a Creative Writing course that I really enjoyed and caught the writing bug. I then enrolled at Concordia University - Saint Paul and earned a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing. My first publication Spit the Sea is a collection of poetry published by Poetica, and second collection of poetry, The Expressive Revolution, and my first collection of short stories, Flipside, are both published by Kindle and available on Amazon. I'm also working on a novella entitled Kill the Rabbit: A Christmas Tale and a novel entitled Open Mic Hero.
